Sony A1 II Mirrorless Camera Body Only
The Alpha 1 II provides a complete camera solution for professionals who demand top-tier performance across all photographic disciplines, without compromise. Built on feedback from working professionals and leading creators, the Alpha 1 II takes the proven sensor of the original Alpha 1 and integrates it into a package that delivers unparalleled reliability and performance.
A new AI chip enables remarkable tracking capabilities, ensuring tenacious and precise focus even at 120 frames per second. An upgraded stabilisation system provides up to 8.5 stops of stabilisation for outstanding steadiness in low light or with longer focal lengths. The refined body design features a significantly improved viewfinder and screen, alongside the highly acclaimed ergonomics of the Alpha 9 III. For photographers requiring uncompromising performance, this camera sets a new benchmark.
Unbreakable Focus
The addition of an AI chip elevates the Alpha 1’s already outstanding autofocus performance to extraordinary levels. By understanding the subject’s complete position in space, the camera can accurately track focus even in challenging conditions. It seamlessly transitions between eye, face, and body focus as needed, ensuring perfect accuracy shot after shot.
Upgraded Image Stabilisation System
The Alpha 1 II features an enhanced 5-axis in-body image stabilisation system, delivering up to 8.5 stops of stabilisation. An advanced stabilisation algorithm, paired with a high-precision gyro sensor, ensures precise detection and control down to the single-pixel level. This results in sharp and clear images, even with longer lenses or in low-light scenarios.
4-Axis Multi-Angle LCD Monitor
The Alpha 1 II incorporates the 4-axis multi-angle LCD monitor first seen on the Alpha 7R V and Alpha 9 III. This design allows free adjustment in both tiltable and side-opening directions, offering excellent operability even in challenging shooting situations.
Composite RAW Shooting
For specialised applications, the Alpha 1 II offers two Composite RAW capture modes. In NR Shooting mode, the camera captures multiple RAW images (4, 8, 16, or 32) that can be composited using Sony’s Imaging Edge Desktop application, resulting in remarkably low-noise images, even at very high sensitivities. For ultimate detail, Pixel Shift Multi Shooting is also available, producing up to 199 Megapixels of resolution.
Although it retains the same 50.1 Megapixel sensor as the original Alpha 1, the Alpha 1 II introduces enhancements to achieve even greater image quality.
Extraordinary Detail and Fidelity
Improvements to the processing and signal handling of the BIONZ X image processors enhance mid-to-high ISO image quality and detail. Further refinements improve the consistency of exposure and colour between shots, all while preserving the camera’s exceptional 15-stop dynamic range for rich, vibrant colour depth.
Enhanced Grip and Ergonomics
A subtly reclined grip and repositioned shutter button offer a more intuitive and decisive shutter action. Additionally, new customisation options for release lag allow professionals to fine-tune timing, ensuring the camera operates as a natural extension of the photographer’s intent.
